2026 Founders' Scholarship RECIPIENTS

Cornerstone Credit Union is proud to announce the four recipients of the 2026 Founders' Scholarships 

  • Alexyia Shipp-Ardson from Freeport High School
  • Angelyn Lopez-Velazquez from South Beloit High School
  • Madelyne Spaide from Freeport High School
  • Reagan Hammes from Newman Central Catholic High School
Alexyia Shipp-Ardson

Alexyia plans to study Criminology at either Illinois University or Loyola University, with the goal of pursuing a career in criminal psychology.

Angelyn Lopez-Velazquez

Angelyn plans to attend Rock Valley College, where she will pursue a degree in Forensic Science, with the goal of building a meaningful career in the field.


Madelyne Spaide

Madelyne plans to attend Highland Community College to pursue a degree in Horticulture, with the goal of helping others become more self-sustainable encouraging local gardens, while promoting improved mental and physical well-being.


Reagan Hammes

Reagan plans to attend Sauk Valley Community College to pursue a degree in Physical Therapy/Exercise Science and continue making a positive impact in her community.
 

All four recipients have demonstrated strong leadership skills and dedication to their education and community, with an impressive list of activities and achievement throughout their high school years. 


Each has been awarded a $2,000 scholarship.

As part of our ongoing effort to invest in our future leaders, the Founders' Scholarship program for graduating seniors is designed to encourage and promote degree completion and to reinforce the rewards for increased responsibility.
